Calgary Chin Christian Church (Calgary, Alberta, Canada)
The Calgary Chin Christian Church in Calgary, Alberta, Canada was established in 2010. On 6 June 2010, a few volunteers started teaching Bible verses and songs to about ten children in Kap Sen’s basement. After half a year, the number of participants increased. The group founded the Calgary Chin Christian Church on 9 January 2011. That year it was able to rent space from the Calgary Vietnamese Mennonite Church where it remained for 10 years. The church formally joined Mennonite Church Alberta on 22 March 2013.
When the opportunity to purchase its own property came up in 2020, the Chin congregation began to pray. It calculated the church would need $200,000 for the down payment and another $200,000 for renovations. Fundraising, sacrificial giving by members, a grant by Mennonite Men, and donations by Mennonite Church Alberta and other Calgary Mennonite congregations assisted. The congregation dedicated its new facility on 14 March 2021.
In 2020 the congregation was part of Mennonite Church Alberta. The minister was Leng Nawn Thang.
