Abbotsford Christian Fellowship (Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada)
Abbotsford Christian Fellowship began services and formally organized in 1986. Jake H. Friesen is considered the founding leader of the group. The congregation originated through outreach by the British Columbia (BC) Conference of Mennonite Brethren (MB) Churches, which it joined in 1987.
The congregation emphasized a contemporary worship style, but the varied streams of church tradition within the membership could not be sustained. The church withdrew from the BC MB Conference in 1993 and the small group that remained in 1993 functioned as an independent congregation under the name New Beginnings Christian Fellowship.
