The Carbondale New Order Amish settlement in Carbondale, Illinois, USA was established in 2006. The settlement started when five families from Townville, Pennsylvania expressed interest in joining the Ava New Order Amish settlement. However the ministry at Ava encouraged the families to establish a sister settlement at Carbondale, located 25-30 miles from Ava.

The first families purchased a 500 acre orchard. Over the years some families remained focused on the orchard. Other families were carpenters and part time farmers.

The first ministers were Earl Coblentz and Warren Jay Yoder, who moved to the community from Townville, Pennsylvania in 2007. David T. Wickey was ordained as a minister in 2013. Bishop services in 2014 were still provided by the Ava New Order Amish.

The Shawnee Amish School was built in 2012; it also served as the church house and was the location of the settlement's cemetery.

In 2014 the settlement was part of the New Order Amish. There was one district with a total of 15 family units.
