In May 1993 several families withdrew from the Calton Conservative Mennonite Church, then still part of the Conservative Mennonite Church of Ontario (CMCO). These families began to attend at the Kurtzville Mennonite Church near Listowel, Ontario, Kurtzville had withdrawn from CMCO in 1992. Issues included the nature of church discipline and the authority of the local congregation.

On 15 August 1993 the first church service of the new group was held at the home of Raymond Weber and was identified as the East Elgin Mennonite Church. Later, services were held in a United Church, in the Vienna Community Centre and at Springfield Public School. Ministers from Kurtzville helped the East Elgin group, including David Huber, Aaron Martin, Aden Martin and Anson Hoover. Ordinations to serve both Kurtzville and East Elgin were held in September 1994. Raymond Weber was ordained as minister and Ivan Weber was ordained as deacon.

On 19 April 1995 the East Elgin group was officially organized as Corinth Mennonite Church at the home of Ivan Weber. Services continued to be held in private homes and the Brownsville Community Centre. The congregation also operates a school.

Construction on a new building did not begin until March 1997. On 20 July 1997 the congregation worshiped for the first time in the new building.

In 2018 the church had 69 members and was a member of the Nationwide Fellowship Churches. The ministerial team included Bishop Raymond Weber, Minister Farayi Kutama, and Deacons Dwayne Weber and Ivan Weber.
