Brighton Old Order Amish Settlement (Brighton, Iowa, USA)

The Old Order Amish settlement about nine miles (15 km) south of Brighton, Washington County, Iowa, USA began in summer 2004 when the Simon Burkholder family moved there from Hillsboro, Wisconsin. Other families followed in the following couple of years, mostly from the Kalona Old Order Amish settlement.

A store opened in 2006, and the first school building was erected in 2007.

S. Duane Miller, a minister, moved to the community in 2006, and brothers, Morris L. Mast and Manferd Mast were ordained as ministers in 2007. Manferd was ordained as bishop in fall 2008.

In 2013 there was one district (congregation), with two schools and about 21 families.
