Stijntgen van Aken (d. 1558)
Stijntgen van Aken, an Anabaptist martyr, was drowned at the Steen Castle at Antwerp, Belgium, on 30 December 1558, after she had been severely tortured some days before. Stijntgen, whose official name was Stijntgen de Hont (or Honts), was a native of Antwerp. She died valiantly as did the three other women martyrs who were executed at the same time. Their names are found in the hymn "Aenhoort God, hemelsche Vader" (Hear, O God, heavenly Father), found in the Lietboecxken. Particulars are lacking.
