Kleefeld (Manitoba) Evangelical Mennonite (Kleine Gemeinde) Church is located eight miles west of Steinbach. Its first meetinghouse was built in 1940. The Kleefeld church had a baptized membership of 140 in  1955. The church has a weekly Sunday school and a monthly Jugendverein. This is the smallest district in membership in Manitoba of the Kleine Gemeinde. The ministers are John R. Friesen and Peter K. Bartel. Gerhard S. Fast is deacon. Between 1874 and 1940 services were held in the village schools and later in a nearby church. Arnold Fast was ordained as minister of the Kleefeld church in 1955. -- David P. Reimer
