Riegel, Bärtl (d. 1572)
Bärtl (Bartholomäus) Riegel (erroneously Ringel in the Hutterite chronicles), of Gündelbach, Maulbronn district, Württemberg, Germany, chosen preacher at Sobotiste in 1553. In 1557 he and Burkhart Bämerle were arrested and tortured. He was active in his office until his death in December 1572 at Neumühl in Moravia. He also wrote two hymns: "O Mensch, kehr dich von Sünden" (27 stanzas) and "O reicher Gott, lass uns von Herzen singen" (44 stanzas).
