Maple Ridge Center (Lowville, New York, USA)
During the summer of 2002 the Beaver Camp board of directors became aware of an opportunity in the former Kentucky-style Seeber horse farm near the town of Lowville, New York. The property had been sitting idle for several years when it was purchased from the mortgage holder by the Pratt Northam Foundation, a local philanthropic organization. Pratt Northam's vision was to preserve as much of the property as possible for uses and programs which would benefit the community.
Numerous organizations and individuals expressed an interest in owning the property, but none were capable of fulfilling the purposes they had established until the Adirondack Mennonite Camping Association (AMCA) made an offer.
In 2007 AMCA took ownership of the part of the property that included the buildings and a portion of the back hill. An equally large portion of the property was reserved for the formation of a community park and for future development.
In 2016 programs at Maple Ridge Center included the Tug Hill Bluegrass Festival, Snow Park and the Maple Ridge Adventure Club. It mission is to realize the kingdom of God by building people, faith and community.
