New Covenant Church was one of the two congregations formed after the 1981 split of Mountain View Gospel Chapel. The other was Mission Christian Fellowship. New Covenant withdrew from the British Columbia Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches in 1982 because of its own charismatic orientation and other differences in structure and theology. It had 68 members at time of withdrawal.

Pastor Joe Marzioli served in the 1980s as a congregational leader.
