Schlachtin Mennonite Settlement (Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Ukraine)

Schlachtin, a Mennonite settlement in the district of Verkhnedneprovsk in the province of Ekaterinoslav (now Dnipropetrovsk), South Russia (present-day Ukraine), consisting of two villages, Grünfeld and Steinfeld, established in 1874. The acreage of the settlement was 10,800, on which about 200 families with about 1,000 persons settled. The settlement formed an administrative unit with the Baratov Mennonite settlement and belonged to the Neu-Chortitza Mennonite Church.
