Janneken Cabeljaus (d. 1564)
Janneken Cabeljaus, wife of the martyr Hendrik Aerts, an Anabaptist martyr, burned at the stake in 1564 at Rijssel (Lille) in France. The execution probably took place on 22 February. She was born at leper, and lived with her husband in Halewijn, Flanders, when they were arrested in the night of 7 March 1563, at the same time as a number of Mennonites. She remained steadfast in trial and died loyally.
