In the spring of 2010, Immanuel Retreat Ministries, a retreat centre in Riverhurst, Saskatchewan pioneered by Prairie Winds Church in Moose Jaw, purchased the vacant United Church in the area and started Riverhurst Community Church. Pastors Willard Hasmatali and Doug Rempel of Prairie Winds Church along with several others shared in the preaching responsibilities for both congregations. On 1 June 2014 the congregation held its charter service and officially joined the Saskatchewan Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches.
