Fairview Mennonite Brethren Church, formerly North Fairview Mennonite Brethren Church, a member of the Southern District Conference, is located in the city of Fairview (pop. 3,000), Major County, Oklahoma. In 1893, when the Cherokee Strip was opened for homesteading, a number of Mennonite Brethren families, who had previously settled in Kansas, filed claims. The group, which in 1900 had about 100 baptized members, met under the leadership of Jacob Kliewer and William Hergert. To accommodate families living at a distance two churches were erected in 1895, one four miles (6.5 km) south and one four miles (6.5 km) north of Fairview. In 1896 Jacob Kliewer was ordained leader of the North Fairview group. Members of both churches met for union services and communion once a month until 1900, when each group began to meet independently.

When the congregation decided to build its new church in the city, membership rose from 106 in 1947 to 217 in 1949, most of the increase coming from the South Fairview Church. The new church, with a seating capacity of approximately 400, was dedicated 7 May 1950. On 1 September 1951 David J. Wiens was installed as pastor of the Fairview Church. The membership at that time was about 260. On 7 October 1951 the entire membership (135) of the Süd-Hoffnungsfeld Church was received into the fellowship of the Fairview City MB Church. The membership in 1954 was 415.
