The Vanderhoof Mennonite Church near Vanderhoof, British Columbia began services in 1979, and formally organized in 1980. The first building was occupied in 1980. David Burkholder is considered the founding leader of the group. The congregation originated through outreach by the Eastern Pennsylvania Mennonite Church. The language of worship is English.

Ministers Abram Guenter and Joseph S. Wadel served in 2001 as non-salaried congregational leaders.
