Zwolse (Zwolsche) Vereniging (Vereeniging), a Dutch Mennonite conference, was founded on 2 June 1858, at Zwolle as the "Vereeniging van Doopsgezinde gemeenten in Overyssel, Gelderland, Utrecht en van naburige in het Koninkrijk Pruisen." The purpose of it was to bring more closely together the scattered Mennonites which had not yet been organized into a regional conference. Annual meetings were held to discuss questions pertaining to these churches. By 1861 17 congregations had joined, 15 Dutch and two German—Kleve and Emmerich; by 1871 it had 19 congregations. In the meetings of 1875 and 1876 the question whether to include the congregations of South Holland and Zeeland was discussed. This had no practical result at this time, but in 1879 Rotterdam joined the conference, and in 1883 The Hague, and gradually all the churches of South Holland and Zeeland joined, as well as the newly established congregations of Wageningen, Zuid-Limburg, Eindhoven. At the meeting of 1885 it was decided to call the conference the "Zwolsche. Vereeniging." Accounts of the annual meetings of 1870-95 were published in Doopsgezinde Bijdragen (except 1878 and 1894).

The Zwolsche Vereeniging took important initiatives: in 1887 it decided to publish a Mennonite weekly (see Zondagsbode), and in 1892 Tj. Kielstra, pastor of Middelburg, raised the question of doing something for Mennonites in the Diaspora, which led to a church ministry to them (see Verstrooiing). The conference also founded the Zwolsche Kas, a treasury to subsidize poor congregations, which functioned until 1946, when its activity was taken over by the Algemeene Doopsgezinde Sociëteit.
