Cornelis Boeckaert, was a Reformed visitor of the sick at Amsterdam, who disputed with Hans de Ries, May 1596 at Amsterdam, at the end of de Ries' testimony. The next year de Ries wrote a tract to Boeckaert, which was published without de Ries' knowledge, titled, Cort ende claer bewijs, dat die twaelf Jongheren daer d'Euangelist Lucas van meldet . . . (n.p., 1597). Boeckaert wrote in reply: Wederlegginge eens Tractaets, ghemaeckt door twee Waterlantsche Wederdooperssche Bisschoppen, nemelijck: Hans de Ries, ende Jacob Jansz (Amsterdam, 1597).
