Pieter Claesz de Jong, a manufacturer of canvas, was a Mennonite preacher of the Waterlander congregation of Krommenie, Dutch province of North Holland around 1740. He published Kort Begrip van de Christelyke godsdienst (Amsterdam, 1742; this work formerly was ascribed to R. Buitenpost), and Godvruchtig levensgedrag van Trijntje Klaasd. Heynes (Amsterdam, 1743). De Jong was an ardent Collegiant and often attended the meetings of this group at Rijnsburg. He addressed these meetings a number of times from 1738-1780.
