Filips Bostijn was a preacher of the Mennonite congregation at Antwerp. In 1566 he came to Friesland with other elders and preachers from Flanders, to mediate in the problems that had arisen there between the Frisians and the Mennonites who had immigrated to Friesland from Flanders.
