Anneken Botson (d. ca. 1585)
Anneken Botson, an Anabaptist martyr, was seized with her daughter Janneken and a fellow believer, Maeyken Pieters, at Neustadt, "in the Lutzelburgerland," Luxembourg, in 1585, and taken to St-Veit. Because they refused to recant they soon suffered martyrdom. "But they went like innocent sheep to the place of sacrifice and died undismayed," records the Anabaptist chronicle. These martyrs were not yet in the Groot 0fferboek of 1613.
