Adriana Jansdochter (d. 1535)
Adriana Jansdochter, an Anabaptist martyr from Benschop, Dutch province of Utrecht, was drowned at Amsterdamon 21 May 1535 (Martyrs Mirror incorrectly records May 15), along with ten other martyrs, all women, because they had been rebaptized, according to the indictment. Adriana was the daughter of Jan van Reenen and Leentgen, who were both Anabaptists. The magistrate sought in vain for Jan van Reenen, and Leentgen died the death of a martyr on the same day as her daughter. Lijsbeth Jansdochter of Benschop, who was executed in Amsterdam six days before, 15 May 1535, was presumably a sister of Adriana.
