The Canaan Christian Fellowship in Athens, Ontario began services in 1982. The congregation originated through outreach by the of Salem Mennonite Fellowship. The group met in homes. Minister Ervin Horst served in the 1980s as a  congregational leader. In 1988 there were 16 members. The congregation dissolved about 1989. It had been an unaffiliated Mennonite congregation. The language of worship was English.
