Landsmannschaft der Deutschen aus Russland
Landsmannschaft der Deutschen aus Russland, with headquarters at Stafflenbergstrasse 66, Stuttgart, Germany, an organization of former residents of Russia of German background, including Mennonites, aims to give legal, cultural, and economic advice to those who are in need of this help. The organization maintains a list and addresses of such residents of Russia. It publishes the monthly paper Volk auf dem Weg and the annual Heimatbuch der Deutschen aus Russland. The 1959 and earlier volumes contain highly significant articles pertaining to German settlements in Russia, biographical sketches of leaders, many significant maps, and a bibliography of the German element in Russia. Most of this information has significant bearing on Mennonite research.
