Claes Cornelisz (d. 1535)
Claes Cornelisz of Amsterdam was executed by hanging on 1 June 1535. Claes was the son of Hillegont Petersdochter, who lived in the house d' Engel, where Anabaptists sometimes stayed. It is not clear whether Claes was an Anabaptist himself; he may have been punished by death for merely sheltering Anabaptists.
