Jacob Broeks was a shoemaker and preacher of the Mennonite congregation at Terhorne, in the Dutch province of Friesland. When the Moravian Brethren settled in the Netherlands they found some adherents among the Mennonites. Jacob Broeks, who joined the Moravians in 1756 together with Sybern Claases, one of the members of his congregation, caused some difficulty in his congregation.
