Johannes Stephanus Simeon Ballot was a Dutch Mennonite minister serving at Wolvega 1863-1867 and Pieterzijl 1867-1879, published the paper "Hans de Ries, zijn leven en werken" in <em>Doopsgezinde Bijdragen</em> 1863 and 1864. His brother Anthony Ballot served as pastor at Westzaan-Zuid 1860-1864 and Hengelo 1864-d. 1871.
