Pacific Southwest Mennonite Conference (Mennonite Church USA)
In 1994 the Southwest Mennonite Conference merged with the southern half of the Pacific District Conference (General Conference Mennonite) to form the dual-conference Pacific Southwest Mennonite Conference. At the same time the northern half of the Pacific District Conference merged with the Pacific Coast Conference (Mennonite Church) to form the Pacific Northwest Mennonite Conference. After the 1999 restructuring of Mennonite Church, the General Conference Mennonite Church and the Conference of Mennonites in Canada into Mennonite Church USA and Mennonite Church Canada, Pacific Southwest became part of Mennonite Church USA.
In 2010 the conference stated the following as their mission:
The Pacific Southwest Mennonite Conference (PSMC) exists to equip leadership, resource congregations and plant churches in a postmodern, global urban environment. Since its inception, the conference has been developing its vision around mission. As such, our vision is to be transformed in mission, doing God's business. Philosophically, PSMC congregations are the center of conference mission. Conference supportive roles include development and support of congregational leaders and congregational assistance to develop strategies for mission.
