Rijper (Ryper) Liedt Boecxken (also called Rijper Gesangboek), a formerly much-used Dutch Mennonite hymnal, the first editions of which were printed at De Rijp, whence it took its name. It contains 450 hymns without notes, divided into three parts: (a) Schriftuurlijcke liedekens, (b) Geestelijcke liedekens (Spiritual Hymns), and (c) an appendix, called Achterhofken (Back Garden). Copies of six editions are still extant and are found in the [[Amsterdam Mennonite Library (Bibliotheek en Archief van de Vereenigde Doopsgezinde Gemeente te Amsterdam)|Amsterdam Mennonite Library ]](except the first, which is found only in the Goshen College Library): Wormerveer 1647, Alkmaar 1664 (also in GCL (Mennonite Historical Library [Goshen, IN]), Saerdam (Zaandam) 1669, 1682, and 1693, and Amsterdam 1716 (this last edition also contained Geestelyck Kruydt-Hofken). But there were without doubt other editions. The preface of this hymnal is dated 25 August 1624; hence there must have been an edition of 1624 or 1625 at De Rijp. Marten Schagen and Blaupot ten Cate mention also editions at De Rijp 1647 and Krommenie 1647. The poet H. A. Hoejewilt of De Rijp was the author of many of the hymns. The Rijper Liedt Boecxken was particularly used in Waterlander congregations.
