Olevian, Caspar (1536-1587)
Caspar Olevian (1536-1587), Reformed theologian in Germany active as Calvinist leader, at Heidelberg 1560-1576, at Berlenburg 1576-1584, and at Herborn 1584-1587. He was coauthor of the Heidelberg Catechism (1563), and active in the introduction of Reformed doctrine, polity, and discipline in the Palatinate and Wittgenstein.
