Bartholomeusvan van Leuvenig (Leuvenigh, Loevenigh), born 15 April 1691 at Burtscheid, Germany, died 18 December 1759, at  Amsterdam, was a son of Bartholomeus van Loevenich, a cloth merchant at Burtscheid and a member of the well-known von Loevenich family. Bartholomeus van Leuvenig, who received his theological training at the Amsterdam Athenaeum and from the Remonstrant professors Clericus and van Limborgh, and who was married to Joanna de Clercq, of Amsterdam, in 1713 became an assistant preacher of the Amsterdam Lamist congregation, being its pastor 1716-1739, in which year he resigned because of his health. He was a member of the Dutch Mennonite Committee of Foreign Needs, and frequently corresponded with the West Prussian churches; a number of these letters are found in the [[Amsterdam Mennonite Library (Bibliotheek en Archief van de Vereenigde Doopsgezinde Gemeente te Amsterdam)|Mennonite Archives at Amsterdam]]. He published Lykreden ober het Afsterven van D. Eekens (his Amsterdam colleague) (Amsterdam, 1732); Gods Tugtles aen Jerusalem (Amsterdam, 1734); Stichtelyke Gezangen (Amsterdam, 1744); and De Brief aan de Gemeente van Laodicea verklaard en toegepast (13 sermons) (Amsterdam, 1746). G. van Heyningen delivered his funeral sermon, published at Amsterdam in 1759.
