Thomas Ameldonck was the first preacher of the Mennonite congregation at Nijmegen (Netherlands). He came from Goch to Nijmegen in 1672, and did much for the welfare of the congregation. His son Jan Ameldonck Leeuw was chosen preacher of this congregation in 1690. The Ameldoncks stemmed from the Rhine region. By 1566 an Ameldonck was already an elder in Cologne.
