Voorst, Hendrik van (1750-1808)
Hendrik van Voorst, born 1750 at Amsterdam, died 2 October 1808 at Zaandam, a Dutch Mennonite pastor, trained for the ministry at the Amsterdam Lamist Mennonite seminary in 1774-1778, serving in the Zaandam-Oost congregation 1779-d. 1808. He was a man of learning, particularly in philosophy. Three of his papers were given awards by the Teyler Foundation at Haarlem and published in the Verhandelingen (essays) of this association. His descendants in the 19th century produced ship biscuits, flour, and rice at Zaandam.
