Schweitzer, Philipp (d. 1539)

Philipp Schweitzer, a Roman Catholic priest of Montbeliard in France, but probably a native of Switzerland, joined the Anabaptists and was active in Basel and Lucerne, Switzerland. He is said to have converted and baptized eight Catholic priests. Schweitzer was executed in 1539 at Lucerne.
