Ludi, Hans (d. 1530)

Hans Ludi, the first Anabaptist martyr in the canton of Basel, Switzerland, from Bubendorf in the Waldenburg district, joined the Swiss Brethren in 1528, destroyed the images of the saints in the local church, and was therefore whipped, and later, on 12 January 1530, beheaded at Basel. By trade he was a mason. He may have belonged to the Swiss Lüthi family.
