Jelis de Metselaer (mason) is an Anabaptist martyr found in van Braght's Martyrs' Mirror with the information that he was burned at the stake at Antwerp, Belgium, on 2 May 1571. Apparently the information by van Braght is not correct. This martyr is not found in the official records. He may have been identical with Jelis Claversz, officially called Gillis van Havre. If this is true, the date of execution was 9 May 1571.
