Rijper Zeepostil, Den
Den Rijper Zeepostil is the title of a Dutch book published at Amsterdam in 1699; it was composed by the Mennonite ministers E. A. van Dooregeest and C. A. Posjager, and was designed to be taken along by the Dutch seamen and whalers, who were numerous at De Rijp and who often had to leave their home town for months. It contains 22 sermons, 16 prayers, and a history of Holland, especially of North Holland and De Rijp. The Zeepostil was used during the services held on the boats on Sunday mornings and on special occasions.
