Hans Heher was an Anabaptist martyr, a cobbler, the treasurer of his congregation at Steyr, captured in 1527 and released after recanting. When he returned to his faith he was sentenced to three months in prison. But King Ferdinand insisted on a death sentence. Heher was accordingly executed in May 1528.
