Lambrecht Jacobs (d. 1540)
Lambrecht Jacobs (Grootboot) of Purmerend, Dutch province of North Holland, an Anabaptist martyr, had sailed in March 1534 from Amsterdam en route to Münster, but was arrested at Bergklooster. He obviously was set free here but was rearrested in 1540, and sentenced to death on 22 September 1540 by the Court of Holland. The execution by the sword took place at The Hague. Lambrecht belonged to the revolutionary wing of Anabaptism, being a follower of Jan van Batenburg.
