Perth County, Ontario, is significant in Mennonite history because of the westerly part of the Amish settlements in Easthope Township, because of the westerly section of the Old Order Amish of Mornington Township, and because of the Mennonite preaching appointment at a Lehman home in Ellice Township in 1850-65. The Mennonite Church (MC) in Wallace Township was situated also in the upper area of this county. (See also Lehman, East Zorra, Old Order Amish, Wallace.)
