Arent Janssen (Jansz), an Anabaptist martyr, was a native of Gorinchem in the Dutch province of South Holland and a thread-twister by trade. He was beheaded at Amsterdam on 6 March 1535, along with eight other brethren, among whom was Jan Pauw.
