Peter Wedel (1769-?) was born 4 February 1769, the son of Benjamin Wedel (27 October 1742 - 4 January 1785) and Trincke Schmidt (7 July 1743, Deutsch Konopat, Prussia - 22 April 1808), and a brother of Benjamin Wedel (1766-1813). The wife of Peter was Maricke Bethcke, daughter of Adam Bethcke and Stiencke (Penner) Bethcke of Neu-Dessau near Driesen. Peter and Maricke had four children: Maria, Peter, Benjamin, and Heinrich.

At the age of 16 he was baptized on 21 August 1785. At the age of 30 he was elected minister and in 1809 elder of the Przechovka Mennonite Church near Schwetz. He lived at Konopat.
