Henrick Henricxzn (Henric Verckendrijver, or Hendrik Kuiper), a Dutch Anabaptist, was very active among the first Anabaptists of Holland. He was baptized at Amsterdam in 1531 by Jan Volkertsz (Trypmaker) and traveled widely in the country. He was a fervent follower of Melchior Hoffman, expecting that this leader by the power of God would be liberated from his prison at Strasbourg to "erect the banner" (to establish the kingdom of God) at Amsterdam. In May 1535 he was arrested in Amsterdam. Asked by his judges whether he did not repent his rebaptism, he answered that he repented all that was done against God, but that he could not consider his (re)baptism as against God. He denied that he had taken part in the revolt (10-11 May) at Amsterdam. It is not known how this suit ended and whether Henrick was sentenced.
