Westland, a district in the Dutch province of South Holland, south of The Hague, where in the fall of 1535 and early 1536 fanatical Anabaptism was active in the villages of Terheide, Naaldwijk, and Poeldijk. At the end of February 1536 a meeting of these revolutionary chiliasts in the house of Jutte Eeuwouts at Poeldijk was surprised by the police. For particulars see Jutte Eeuwouts and Poeldijk. After this there are no traces of Anabaptism in the Westland.
