Michiel Willems (van Braght,Martyrs Mirror: Michiel van Bruyssel, i.e., Brussels in Belgium), an Anabaptist martyr, a silk weaver, who was arrested at Ghent, Belgium, with his wife Barberken (Barbele Pieters) in 1576 (not 1573 as stated in the Martyrs' Mirror). They were put to death "after manifold temptations and trials of their faith, . . . not for any evil deed, but only for the obedience of the truth of Jesus Christ."
