Jenneken de Cantere, an Anabaptist martyr, was burned at the stake on 28 May 1573 at Antwerp, Belgium. She was a native of Brussels. During the trial she at first denied, but later admitted that she had attended the forbidden meetings of the Mennonites. For this crime she was sentenced to death. Apparently she was not (yet) a member of the congregation. Lynken Groffels was put to death with her.
