On 8 November 1930, Regehr reported large areas of suitable land available for Mennonite settlement at Medicine Hat and in the Vauxhall district, which would be fertile with irrigation. In 1933-34 both Mennonites ([[General Conference Mennonite Church (GCM)|General Conference Mennonite]] [GCM]) and [[Mennonite Brethren Church|Mennonite Brethren]] (MB) from other parts of Alberta moved in. On 15 April 1934, the [[Vauxhall Mennonite Brethren Church (Vauxhall, Alberta, Canada)|Vauxhall MB Church]] was organized, which had 86 members in 1959.
