Jakob Plätscher was a preacher at Immelhausen in Baden from 1761, and Heinrich Plätscher a preacher at Eppstein near Frankenthal from 1764, both serving until after 1802. This Heinrich Plätscher was married to Katharina Brenneman; they lived at Friedelsheim. Their son Johannes with his family emigrated from Friedelsheim to the United States in 1833. Other relatives moved from Friedelsheim to America in 1841,-55. The martyrs Jacob and MelchiorPlatzer may have belonged to this family.
