Matthias Jansz van Geuns, son of the iron dealer Jan Stevens van Geuns at Groningen, b. there 1758, d. 1839 at Haarlem, served the following Mennonite congregations as a pastor: [[Makkum (Friesland, Netherlands)|Makkum]] 1783-1787, Harlingen 1787-1792, and Haarlem 1792-1828. Matthias Jansz van Geuns, son of the iron dealer Jan Stevens van Geuns at Groningen, b. there 1758, d. 1839 at Haarlem, served the following Mennonite congregations as a pastor: Makkum 1783-1787, Harlingen 1787-1792, and Haarlem 1792-1828. He published Kort Verslag aangaande den Toestand van het Doopsgezind Kerkgenootschap (Utrecht, 1793). He was married to Tryntje Cornelisd. Sytses of Leeuwarden. Two of his sons, Cornelis Sytse and Bartel, were also Mennonite ministers.
