Dirck van Wormer (Dirck Groede), a native of Wormer, Dutch province of North Holland, tried to snatch the holy sacrament from the hands of a priest during a procession at Wormer in the spring of 1535. After this a fight arose, in which some Anabaptists took an active part. Dirck bandaged a wounded Anabaptist and tended him secretly. It is not clear if Dirck was an Anabaptist himself or a Sacramentist (a group who opposed the Roman Catholic doctrine of the holy sacrament).
