Marc Leonard Deenik, a Dutch Mennonite pastor, was the son of<strong> </strong>[[Deenik, M. Among the Mennonites he was a very influential man, especially in the province of Friesland, where he was secretary of the <em>Friesche Doopsgezinde Societeit </em>(Mennonite Conference of Friesland) from 1899 to 1941. Through his thorough knowledge of Mennonites and his keen interest in Mennonite congregational life he was very helpful to many congregations in Friesland, especially the small ones, for whom he was a fatherly adviser. Marc Leonard Deenik, a Dutch Mennonite pastor, was the son of Albertus Agathus Deenik M.Lzn., He was born at Ternaard, Friesland, 9 December 1865, and died at Leeuwarden, 4 August 1947. Deenik was educated at Amsterdam (university and Mennonite seminary), served the congregations of Irnsum-Poppingawierin in 1893-1897, and Leeuwarden in 1897-1931. Like his father, he was by principle a liberal; he played an important part among the Freemasons of the Netherlands. Among the Mennonites he was a very influential man, especially in the province of Friesland, where he was secretary of the Friesche Doopsgezinde Societeit (Mennonite Conference of Friesland) from 1899 to 1941. Through his thorough knowledge of Mennonites and his keen interest in Mennonite congregational life he was very helpful to many congregations in Friesland, especially the small ones, for whom he was a fatherly adviser.
